Conclusions: Incomplete Integration

Abstract This study set out to provide insight into the integration of Netherlands and Northwest Germany Napoleonic Empire, through implementation governance, distinguishing several phases. concluding chapter puts research findings a larger context. After exploring collapse legacy rule, successive stages conquest, incorporation, are reflected upon. Both areas experienced similar tensions between desire for uniformity diverse traditions. Either ‘harsh’ approach or ‘mild’ was chosen, depending on actors involved interaction core periphery. Interests actions were not aligned, in more extreme cases, there downright animosity officials. Therefore, neither nor complete achieved. However, no definite blueprint integration, as different groups had conflicting ideas desirable level of, path to, integration. Ultimately, incomplete, but degree incompleteness depends divergent norms by various parties.
